The Birth of "MelBorn"

In April 2007, Melbourne Writers' Theatre called for entries for its Annual Short Play Season.

Over 150 entries were received and evaluated according to the same criteria as that used
by the famous Short & Sweet 10 Minute Play Festivals.

The top 50 ranked plays were then reviewed by Artistic Director, Christina Cass who selected 30 to receive a rehearsed reading on one of three nights at The Carlton Courthouse. Each night of readings was presented by an individual director and a small but incredibly talented ensemble.

From these readings, Christina chose the 10 plays that are.......

Prizes
This year, one of the plays has the opportunity to be judged worthy of inclusion in the prestigious 
Short & Sweet Play Festival to be held at The Arts Centre in December. (5th - 22nd December)
