Heather Lythe
 
Heather Lythe trained at East 15 Drama School in Essex, UK and worked in Open Air theatre, in Wales before touring the Provinces in Repertory theatre. She has performed at the Ludlow Festival in ‘The Tempest’ and in Cambridge in ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ where she played Katherine before basing herself in London and working in Fringe theatres - The Gate in Nottinghill,The Artaud and Tabard theatres. She has also worked in London’s West End at the Shaftsbury and Globe theatres.

Closer to home and more recently Heather played Hilary in Ron Elisha’s new play ‘Wrongful Life’ at Chapel off Chapel and has been involved in two VCA Directors’ season programmes Dea Loher’s ‘Tattoo’ directed by Rochelle Whyte and Garcia Lorca’s ‘Don Perlimplin’ directed by Andrea Mina .’Last year she performed in ‘Full Spectrum’ for the Short and Sweet Festival and earlier this year at El Dante’s Minnie Fiesta.

Marnie Gibson Marnie Gibson completed a BA in Performing Arts at Curtin University and trained in musical theatre at WAAPA before moving to Melbourne to continue training. She studied at both the National Theatre School and St Martins Theatre before commencing the BA acting course at the VCA. She has appeared in many stage productions including 'Short and Sweet' and 'Your Text Here' at the Arts Centre, Highway Ulysses at the VCA and in Anthony Crowley's award winning musical 'The Wild Blue'. She has also performed her own cabaret show at Capers and St Martins, and has sung in cover bands in both Perth and Melbourne. Marnie has appeared in numerous short films and commercials, and has been featured as a dancer in film clips. She has just returned from study in New York where she trained with David Mamet’s Atlantic Theatre School and auditioned on Broadway, followed by a quick stint in London with Pineapple Studios. Marnie is very excited to be back in Melbourne working on Australian productions. Marnie has trained in both acting and musical theatre at VCA, WAAPA and most recently with the Atlantic Theatre Company in New York. She has appeared in many stage and film productions, most recently in the one woman show ‘Festina Lente’.

 

Trevor Vaughan
 
After graduating from the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Trevor Vaughan , at some stage, decided to move to Melbourne. Since doing so, he has appeared in various productions including "Oedipus", "Hamlet", "Les Miserables", "A Midsummer Night’s Dream", "The Nuclear Family", "Frying Pan to fire", and "A Walk Through the Life of William Shakespeare" and "Miguel de Cervantes".
Simon Kearney
 
Simon Kearney started his career at St Martins Youth Arts Centre by participating in their performance scholarship program. Since then Simon has participated in a number of theatre projects around Melbourne including 'Sick', 'The Nero Conspiracy', 'Lucky', 'Caresses', 'Sammy and the Sword, Mickey and the Mistress' and Debrief. Simon has also appeared in a number of films namely 'Crushed', 'The Trial Of A Film' and 'The Sticks'.
Charity Shaw Charity Shaw's  theatre credits include over ten play readings in the last six months for Crash Test Drama and the Melbourne Short & Sweet Festival, “Abby” Chasing Pegasus – A Play in Ten Chords (2006 Melbourne Fringe Festival), "Emily" Milko (2004 Playbox Theatre in the Raw), "Jackie" Dream Like Me (2003 3D Festival grant winner). Whilst completing her Diploma of Arts (Acting), National Theatre Drama School, she played "Sita" The Ramayana, "Chi'Yun" Fanshen, "Olga" The Three Sisters, "Antigone" Antigone amongst many other productions. Upon graduation in 2004 she received the prestigious Joan Harris Award. Charity's other awards include Best Actress April Crash Test Drama, David Jaanz School of Singing Excellence Award, and VCE Excellence Award for Theatre Studies Performance Monologue. Between shows she’s keeping busy with workshops in voiceover, accents, Viewpoints and Audition process.  Charity is also a singer, having worked with The Melbourne Chorale World Choral Symposium, and recently recording the soundtrack and playing “Lisa” in a World Premiere of the new Australian musical Marking Life. This year she performed as a presenter in a TV Pilot, in an upcoming comedy series on Channel 9, and has been cast in a Horror feature film and a stage production for May 2008.

 

Elizabeth Thomson

 

Elizabeth Thomson's  most recent experience cuts a swathe through corporate role-playing, television roles, new Australian theatre work, classic texts and everything in between. Her stage work includes ‘Last Tango in Brunswick’, ‘Richard III’, ‘After the Rain’, ‘Tango’ and ‘Tartuffe’ as well as various guest TV roles, the odd advertisement and playing a variety of corporate characters with ‘Laughing Matters’.
Matthew Malony
 
Matthew Molony has been an actor in Melbourne for 10 years. In that time he has been involved in many theatre productions, films – both short and feature length, as well as various roles on television. Matthew is pleased to be apart of MelBorn for the Melbourne Writers Theatre. 
Bobbi-Lea Dionysius Bobbi-Lea Dionysius began her performing arts career at the age of 6 as a gymnast. Through extensive training at major national institutions including NIDA, QUT, USQ, ATYP, Dance Works, and The Sydney Dance Company, she further developed her talents as a Singer/Dancer/Actor. Bobbi-Lea completed her Bachelor of Music Theatre Degree (with Distinction), at CQCM (Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music) in 2004. Bobbi-Lea graduated as Student of the Year, and was also bestowed as a Golden Key Honour Scholar. Other achievements include The Arts Theatre Bursary, a Performing Arts Recipient Award, Graduate Honours in Theatre, and the Rotary Best First Year Award at CQCM.  In addition to several short films, other performances include "RENT", "Copacabana" (Lola), Chicago (June & Velma - understudy), "Aspects of Love" (Giulietta), "Les Miserables", "Kiss Me Kate", "Chess", "Jesus Christ Superstar", West Side Story, "The Sentimental Bloke", "Alice in Wonderland", "Smithy"," Bats", "Choices"," Strippers", "Railing It Uptown", and The Cage Birds. She also toured a Theatre-In-Education production with the Twelfth Night Theatre Company and performed in a seven-piece soul band for two years in Sydney. She then formed an all girl band with one of her band’s original songs being in the soundtrack of an Australian feature film. 

Bobbi-Lea currently has an ongoing support role in a new TV Drama Series, which is being co-produced between China and Australia. 

 

Nick Fox Nick Fox graduated from the National Theatre Drama School in 2006. Credits during this time included performances in "Who's Afraid of the Working Class?", "The Superior Residence", "Romeo & Juliet" & "Don's Party". A broken leg at the start of this year slowed things a little but Nick returned to the stage in August for a production of "The Greeks: The War" at Gas Works. Nick is very excited for the opportunity to work with all involved with the production of MelBorn.

 

Phil Roberts Phil Roberts is an actor and director who has been working in all forms of theatre for a number of decades. His
theatrical journey started (as did he) in England. It then took a break in Papua New Guinea before stopping off for a couple of those decades in the bohemian haunts of our National Capital. His first Melbourne production - as director and actor - was at La Mama in 1999. He has been hanging around there ever since. 2005 was spent at VCA, where he gained a postgraduate diploma in theatre
directing. His most recent production was a secretive, not to say invisible, role in an intriguing MTC production...
